cTnI (cardiac Troponin I):

Why is it used? Elevated cTnI levels can indicate a heart attack or other forms of heart injury. In the context of thrombosis, a heart attack can be caused by a blood clot blocking a coronary artery.
NTproBNP (N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide):
What is it? A marker of heart failure, it's released into the bloodstream in response to changes in pressure inside the heart.
Why is it used? Elevated NTproBNP levels can indicate heart failure. A clot in the lungs (PE) can strain the right side of the heart, potentially leading to heart failure. Thus, measuring NTproBNP can help diagnose and monitor this strain.
